Hey everybody thanks you for tuning in. This is our first look at the new Fender American Professional Stratocaster. Guys I’ve got to say these are awesome. Coming from a fellow that do not work for Fender and have a completely unbiased opinion on these. Personally, my initial impression is “I’m incredibly impressed.” We are going to give you real quick peek and overlook over the guitars and we’re going to touch briefly on some of the features that are different about the new 2017 models as opposed to the previous standards from years past.
The first thing, that you’re going to notice as soon as you pick one of these things up is the neck profile. This is a new neck shape for fender and they’re calling it a “Deep-C” shape. It’s a little bit thinner near the nut and gets a little bit fatter as you get up the fretboard. So it feels about like a normal C profile down here at the nut but you will notice that it gets a little bit chunkier got a little bit more to hold into you get on the fretboard.
Frets are also updated
The frets themselves have also have been changed. They usually get thinner and taller fret wire which gives you the flexibility and the ability to bend as far as you possibly can. It still holds its pitch still stays in tune wonderfully.
What about the pickups..?
The next thing that I noticed was the pickups. Here are my thoughts and feelings on the electronics. The kind of bright spiciness is gone but they still have the sparkle. They kinda lost that feel the Fender American Stratocasters can be known for particularly on bridge pickup they’ve activated the tone control on bridge selection. So that’s a big plus. Kind of help to dampen that edginess of the bridge pickup.
Treble Bleed..?? What’s That..?
Now another thing that uh I’ve already heard some folks talking about they introduced that treble bleed. It’s a really interesting feature I there’s a lot of you guys probably know you know you can roll your volume knob off when you’re using nice tuning amp.
When you go from ten down to about eight our signals going to clean up a good bit. It’s gonna roll lot of gaining on your signal and you’re going to get a much cleaner tone but what’s interesting and what’s really nice about what they’ve done is with the treble bleed your signal doesn’t also become significantly adult as you roll down the volume so you can get that lower sweeter sound but it’s still very clear and articulate.
This is a more musical instrument than the previous model. Everything about it is just got a better ring to a little bit more presence all around some more musical guitar even when they’re unplugged they just got a really nice presence.
Any Updates on the Electronics..?
They’ve done a few other things a little bit different with the electronics this year. They’re using a combination of different alnico magnets for the different pole pieces if I’m not mistaken. It’s a very customized sound now the neck pickup and the middle pickup or using these hybrid magnets but the bridge is still an alnico five. It’s still got that punch it’s got the clarity it’s everything that you want in a bridge sound out of the fender guitar. But the middle neck pickups especially the combinations in the blending up and just have a new dimension. Additional elements of texture to the sound that are just really really nice and I’m really enjoying it.
The Tremolo Bar is also updated
The tremolo bar is also a little different you can snatch it if you don’t like with your tourist. You just gotta get out of the guitar but if you want to give it back you can. It just inserts into the tremolo system it doesn’t have the threads anymore. It spins freely definitely and it’s going to a smoother field as you used very little movement or creates that Barbara. That’s pretty impressive too.
Yeah, guys, that is the first look here at the Fender American Professional Stratocaster 2017. Thank you very much for stopping by. We hope that this article helped you a lot.
